Oh Koa. 

You are so missed, so loved. Thought of, spoken of, longed for here, every day.

You were an important friend to my kids. So very important. And a beloved and irreplaceable fixture of our community. You remain a powerful presence in our lives.

You show up in Iris’ doodles and artwork constantly. This doodle on the back of some sheet music has been drifting around our house for weeks — I think of it as “Cozy Koa.”

We know you’re safe and whole in God’s presence, and that gives us peace and hope. And yet how we wish you were still here with us all.

Our family, and our Threads Church family, will never be the same without you, but also, we’ll never be the same because of you. You are a bright-shining gift, and we hope to honor you as we walk on.
